1 Peter 4:2-4
live for the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for human passions but for the will of God. 3 For the time that is past suffices for doing what the Gentiles want to do, living in sensuality, passions, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and lawless idolatry. 4 With respect to this they are surprised when you do not join them in the same flood of debauchery, and they malign you. (malign = slander, lie or speak bad about you)
On Sunday Pastor Vaughn talked to us about a "Break Up" and he told us that we can’t be hanging out with all our X's or our relationship with Jesus won’t work and if it does survive it will be dramatically slowed down and also be perverted. These X's can include relationships, friends, family, ungodly work places, habits, and more which we are called to distance ourselves from knowing that they will have much to say about us as we do so.
What have been some of the more difficult X's to distance yourself from? What have you learned when you've been willing and able to do it? What have you learned if there are some X's that you haven't distanced yourself from? What are the things that help you to distance yourself? What are the things that make distancing so difficult? (Individual & Group Discussion)

1 Peter 4:10-11
10 As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: 11 whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 4:17
17 For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?
On Sunday Pastor Vaughn told us that we are stewards or caretakers of the gifts God has given each of us. He also told us that God’s expectations of us as Christians is that we are going to use whatever gifts we've been given to bless and be hospitable towards other people. Finally he told us that God is actually going to judge every believer according to that expectation.
How do you feel about your gifts and your stewardship of your gifts when it comes to using them to bless others? Is it fair for God to judge you in this way? Does this stricter judgment of Christians in this way make sense to you? Why or why not? What are some of the things that every Christian can do to prepare for this promised judgment that is coming to the house of the Lord - the Church? (Group Discussion)

1 Peter 4:8
8 Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.
On Sunday Pastor Vaughn told us that like Jesus, our love for one another can have real impact on sin and its power in our lives and relationships. He told us that sons & daughters and brothers & sisters can love, forgive, and reconcile with one another while the problems are still on our level or we can't wait till "Daddy" gets home but then problems are escalated and we're all in trouble. God has given us an amazing power to cover/deal with sin and offenses but forgiveness and relentless reconciliation through love is hard for us.
Who are some specific and particular people that you know you need to reach out to in earnest love in order to repent and restore and be reconciled with them? Who are some specific and particular people that have "issues" with each other that you know God could use you as the one to help bring them back together and deal with the sin that has separated them in some way? (This is just for you not the group. The group can pray for everyone to have the strength to actually do this with the people God has put on our hearts!)
