2. You Are Not Your Past
Acts 26:14-18
14 We all fell to the ground, and I heard a voice that said to me in Aramaic, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you harassing me? It’s hard for you to kick against a spear.’ 15 Then I said, ‘Who are you, Lord?’ The Lord replied, ‘I am Jesus, whom you are harassing. 16 Get up! Stand on your feet! I have appeared to you for this purpose: to appoint you as my servant and witness of what you have seen and what I will show you. 17 I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you 18 to open their eyes. Then they can turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, and receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are made holy by faith in me.’
On Sunday Pastor Nick said that our past shapes us but it doesn't define us. We are not our past. We are sons and daughters of God who are being made holy as verse 18 says. Pastor Nick used the example of Paul being a murderous persecutor of the church who was blinded by God and then called by Jesus to open the eyes of the blind. Paul's past was not a death sentence when considering his future.

3. You Are Not Your Demographic
On Sunday Pastor Nick talked about how Aquila & Priscilla were victims of racism and ethnic cleansing but they acknowledged that and still lived for God and fulfilled their purpose.
What are some of the painful things you have experienced as a part of your demographic? (Gender, Race, Ethnicity, Age, Residence, Income, Education, etc.) (Group Discussion)
How has God been good even in the midst of those very real struggles related to demographics? (Group Discussion)
4. You Are In Need Of Prayer
Please share one prayer request. This may be related to "who I am" or the holiday season or any other area of life but please make a request that is for you tonight, not others or world peace etc. After one person shares their request, please have someone in the group pray for them before moving on to the next persons prayer request. The hope is that everyone will have a chance to pray for someone tonight and that everyone will also be prayed for. (Each individual)
