1 Peter 2:2
2 Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation— 3 if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.
1 Corinthians 3:1-2
1 But I, brothers, could not address you as spiritual people, but as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ. 2 I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not ready for it. And even now you are not yet ready
Hebrews 5:12-14
12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food, 13 for everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a child. 14 But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.
Matthew 18:3-4
Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
On Sunday Pastor Vaughn talked about the bible forcing us to hold multiple truths in tension with one another rather than choosing one truth and denying another. How should we understand Peter's declaration that we must continuously behave like infants that long for spiritual milk? How should we understand Paul's declaration that many believers are still on milk when they should be eating solid food? How should we understand Jesus' declaration that only believers who become like children will enter into the kingdom of heaven? (Group Discussion)
How do you feel like you are doing in each of these areas? (Each Individual)

1 Peter 2:4-5
4 As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, 5 you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 2:19-22
19 So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, 21 in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. 22 In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.
On Sunday Pastor Vaughn asked these questions and made these statements:
Is the church the building???… YES!!!
Is the church the people???… YES!!!
Is the church about the Priests???… YES!!!
Are all the people Priests???… YES!!!
Is the church about what we give and offer???… YES!!!
Are the lives of every person what is actually being given and offered???… YES!!!
What an amazing metaphor Peter uses to show us what it is to build and be the church…
What does it mean to be a "brick" or "living stone" at THE WAY? Of course this applies to our families and to the rest the world but let's focus tonight on what this word means for the local church and more specifically THE WAY. Your brick matters! How? Why? What is better at THE WAY based on your brick? What may be worse? How do you think Jesus the "Cornerstone" looks at what is being built at THE WAY and the way each "brick" is operating? (Group Discussion)
