2.

Acts 10:17-20

17 Now while Peter was inwardly PERPLEXED as to what the vision that he had seen might mean, behold, the men who were sent by Cornelius, having made inquiry for Simon’s house, stood at the gate 18 and called out to ask whether Simon who was called Peter was lodging there. 19 And while Peter was PONDERING the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Behold, three men are looking for you. 20 Rise and go down and accompany them without hesitation, for I have sent them.”

On Sunday Pastor Vaughn talked about "Dreams With A Theme" & "Putting Extras On It". Both of these explored the importance of thinking deeply about the things we are seeing and hearing from God. Both also explored the role that other people play in helping us as we think through and discuss the things we are seeing and hearing from God. Are you spending time perplexed and pondering like Peter? Give and example? Are you discussing these things with others? Who? What prevents you from doing this? What helps you to do this? What is lost if we aren't doing this? What is gained when we do? (Group Discussion)

3.

Matthew 22:11-13

11 “But when the KING came in to look at the guests, he saw there  a man who had no wedding garment. 12 And he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you get in here without a wedding garment?’ And he was speechless. 13 Then the king said to the attendants, ‘Bind him hand and foot and cast him into the outer darkness.

Acts 7:33

33 Then the Lord said to him, ‘Take off the sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.

On Sunday Pastor Vaughn talked about standards related to royalty and what it means to "Come Before The King". We were told that most want to say people should either come to God as they are OR be sure to come to God in holiness. Pastor Vaughn said that its not "either or" but "both and". We must keep it real and realize that we come to God wretched for salvation and we continue to come to Him broken once saved AND we must also understand that when we come before God there is a standard of holiness and righteousness that cannot be overlooked. How do we do this? Which of the two is easiest for you or which of the two is the one you focus on most in your relationship with God and church? How do you know if you or other people are failing to come as they are or failing to come in holiness and righteousness? Why is this important? (Each Individual & Group Discussion)

4. Time Permitting?

Deuteronomy 4:5-6

5 See, I have taught you statutes and rules, as the Lord my God commanded me, that you should DO THEM in the land that you are entering to take possession of it. 6 Keep them and do them, for that will be your WISDOM and your UNDERSTANDING in the sight of the peoples, who, when they hear all these statutes, will say, ‘Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

Who are the people in your life with "Understanding AND Wisdom"? Are you going to them and receiving guidance/counsel/direction? Are you acting on it? Are you "Understanding AND Wise"? Who are you helping by giving wise guidance/counsel/direction? Especially the "unsaved" in hopes that your understanding AND wisdom in "non-religious" areas may open them up to future conversations about religion. (Each Individual)
