Are you ready to lace up your walking shoes and join us at the Best Buddies Friendship Walk?! We are just days away, and we can't wait to see your smiling faces at Shoreline Aquatic Park. Here's everything you need to know to help you get ready for the big day!

Event Details & Schedule
Parking: Please use the Pike Parking Garage (65 S. Cedar Ave, Long Beach, CA 90802). It is about a 10-minute walk from our venue. It is $9 for 2:30-4 hours. For closer ADA parking, there are limited unreserved metered spots at Pierpoint Landing (200 Aquarium Way). This is a closer point for those being picked up or dropped off.
9:00 am: Check-in Even though you've already registered online, please remember to go to the "registration" tent for check-in! This is where walkers with $50 raised on their individual fundraising page will be able to collect their 2024 Friendship Walk shirts. Walkers who have not registered online prior to the walk will be able to sign up here as well. Note that there will be three separate lines at the registration tent: pre-registered, day-of registration, and VIF.  
10:00 am: Opening Ceremonies Yahoo News National Reporter Garin Flowers and Best Buddies State Ambassador Vanessa Ocana will emcee our walk. Best Buddies Ambassador and Jobs program participant Max Masius will give a special speech. Buddy pair Karen Hardy and Max McGinley will treat us to a musical performance. Former Miss CA USA Tiffany Johnson will warm us up for the walk with Zumba.
10:30 am: Walk Begins The walk route is approximately 1.3 miles.
11:00 am - 12:00 pm: Awards & Festivities After the walk wraps, we will announce our fundraising and programmatic award winners. DJ Willpower will provide tunes for a dance party.
Food & Drink: We will have water, fruit, pastries, and pizza.
Accessibility: We will have two Kulture City sensory bags available for those with sensory sensitivities. The bags include headphones, fidget toys, and a visual cue card.
